Dare to look a little Deeper
As a New Yorker it's so easy to get caught up in the day to day, hustle and bustle of of life and we constantly overlook the beauty mystery, and even eroticism of life within this concrete jungle.
From time to time something catches my attention and I can't help it but look a little closer to see what lies between the cracks of a sidewalk or hanging from a tree. These images are a constant reminder to not only look closer at those things in front of me, but also to have the courage to look closer and deeper to what lives inside of me. Through these images I've allowed myself to discover my own beauty, mysteries and eroticism.
In "Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power" by Audre Lorde, she shares that the erotic is a measure between the beginnings of our sense of self and the chaos of our strongest feelings. I've always wanted to experienced life to it's fullest and as I've embarked on this journey of self discovery, I've allowed my full sense of self to emerge and experience eroticism, not only with myself but in everything around me.
No one will ever give me permission to exist and I've made it my mission to reclaim my voice, my body and my right to be a human, a woman.
